My Project

I’m excited to share a hands-on STEM initiative designed to engage and challenge students—particularly those who are gifted and talented—by integrating graphing calculators with robotics in the classroom. This innovative approach not only enriches learning but also makes abstract concepts tangible and applicable.

Here’s how this project stands out:

1. Interactive, Hands-On Learning

Students use graphing calculators to program and control robots, bringing math and coding concepts to life. This interactive experience fosters real-time experimentation, critical thinking, and deeper engagement.

2. Building Computational Thinking and Coding Skills

With devices like the TI-84 Plus CE, students write code in TI-Basic to operate rover robots. Through this, they develop core programming competencies including algorithmic thinking, logical reasoning, and debugging.

3. Applying Math and Science in Real-World Contexts

This project bridges classroom theory with real-world applications. Students explore geometry, algebra, and physics by coding motion, calculating angles, and analyzing velocity—transforming equations into interactive outcomes.

4. Accessible Robotics and Engineering Education

Using graphing calculators as controllers lowers the barrier to robotics. Students gain practical experience in engineering design, from the idea stage, to planning, testing, and repeat.

With your support, we can bring this unique STEM learning opportunity to more students and equip them with the skills needed for the future.
