Robo-Revolution: Streamlining Design for National Competition
My students need robotics equipment to streamline their season and maximize their resources.

My Students
Every day students from every borough and background stream into our robotics lab to tinker, build, and get hands-on experience. Despite all of their different backgrounds and experiences, they can all find a shared passion: robotics.
After dedicating so much of their time to robotics while still dealing with the rigors of high school (College applications, SAT/ACT, schoolwork, and jobs) these students deserve the equipment they need to succeed.
During the FIRST robotics build season - the six weeks the team has to design and manufacture their robot - the robotics team members stay in the lab after school until around 9pm every night. Cumulatively, each student will spend over 275 hours during the six weeks designing and manufacturing the robot.
My Project
The most important resource a FIRST Robotics team has during the build season is time. Here at Team 334 we are always looking to maximize what we can do with this vital resource. What we're asking for in this project will enable us to take our efficiency to the next level, allowing us to fully utilize all the time we have.
Competition is fierce in FIRST robotics, which is why we’re looking to give our students every advantage they can get, and why we’re asking for your help.
The Intel NUC will allow my students to streamline and improve their designing by providing a centralized place to house and store their designs, and allowing all the sections of the team to effectively communicate. In addition the laptops we are asking for will improve the quality of the designs we create and improve the speed at which we can design through their powerful processors, and also allow us to run the CAD and CAM software we use. Efficiency is vital during the short time the team has to design and build their robot, the more time they gain using this equipment, the more time they have to test and refine their designs to perfection. In addition, the camera will allow is to share what we do. We feel that it would be wonderful to share what we do with our school, parents, and the wider FIRST community.
