Robo Games- Coding for Problem Solving

Help me give my students problem solving challenges. These obstacle course items can be quickly set up as courses for our robots. Every time the robotics obstacles are set up, it is a new problem to solve.

My Project

Our goals for the robotics program this year are for the robotics team to practice construction and problem solving with the VEX robotics sets, then to compete in robotics next year; and STEM classes will problem solve with coding. In addition to the robotics teams challenging themselves, STEM students have already coded our Dash robots to run an obstacle course. The Mar's Rover was our role model for this simulation. We would like to take the challenge in front of the school during our House Games and a parent robo-games night. We have a house system, and students look forward to helping their house earn points in games. Why not compete with robots, too? The ramp, tunnels and cones will allow for an engaging course while ensuring the course is a different challenge each time.

The portable and quick to set up obstacle course items to use with robotics will make practice easier for the robotics team and STEM classes, and set up for House Games will be faster.

Our students this year have embraced problem solving through coding, because they love getting the robot through a course. They have been diligent in debugging their programs and measuring the course, and have learned to work so well as an engineering team.

Help our school make it cool to be smart while we teach 21st century technology and problem solving skills.
