My Students

I currently teach Business Education in my classroom at an ESE/EBD center in Tampa, FL. for students with various learning disabilities. My students work hard and they are eager to learn and to be successful. I currently collaborate with local businesses to participate in offering hands-on opportunities in giving my students the chance to experience the tools and skills needed to be successful. I also integrate a business atmosphere in the classroom environment for students to have an idea of developing their own business and a business plan. Unfortunately, resources and funds are limited for this to come to life.

My Project

This project is geared to prepare special education students who have limited resources to supplies. The goal is teaching them how to operate a stand alone business to work and manage a smoothie enterprise. The supply of tumblers and cups will enable students to offer drinks for donations to continue operation of purchasing other smoothie products and supplies. This teaches them the various aspects of goods and services in business.

It is vital that special education students are equipped with the skills and experience to assist them in been better prepared to function in a real world business environment.

Students will more easily acquire the tools and the skill sets needed to apply hands on experience they need through project-based learning of operating a smoothie business in the classroom and school.

Additionally, by giving students the opportunity to create, learn and operate a health conscious business project would be a plus in educating and offering a healthier lifestyle is evidence their learning is beneficial to their transition into the job market.
