My Students

I have been blessed to be an educator at one of the most engaging schools in Clark County School District. The students who will be in class this year are the very same students who I taught in kindergarten when I transferred to this school. They were a delight to my soul as they had a hunger to learn everything from the letter name and sounds, to learning about acute, right, and obtuse angles while dancing to music. My former kinder students were learning fifth grade principles while in kindergarten. Now, they are fifth graders and I get the honor of being their teacher once again.

These students have passed me in the hallway on many occasions and they, along with their parents, have told me, "I wish you were still my teacher!" We've hugged and high fived each other throughout the milestones in their lives.

They've come to me when they didn't quite understand something in their class. They've even come to me when they merely needed a hug. Even though "school" looks "different" now, because of COVID, it has not taken away my absolute excitement about educating my students from kindergarten again!

My Project

My students have returned from being distance learners to loving learners who encourage each other as we've become our own Book Club Family! I would love to give each student their own copy of the "Book of the Month", Rick Riordan's "Daughter of the Deep"! Right now, we're reading "Amari and the Night Brothers". I could only afford to buy the read-aloud for two students and all want their own copy. I now have a class of students who are disappointed when it's time to stop reading! Please help!
