My students are a diverse and energetic group of 4 year olds. I teach three different classes everyday, for a period of 50 minutes each.
These students are English Language Learners, which means that not only are they experiencing school for the first time, they are also learning a new language.
Regardless of which language they speak at home, running and playing in the gym is a universal language. Students need this time of the day to help them learn how to use their energy in a safe way.
My Project
Pre-K Students are learning how to hold writing tools in their classroom and working on letter formation and drawings. By playing Ring Toss in the gym, they are getting another opportunity to strengthen their fine motor skills.
Ring Toss will help them focus on an obtainable goal while also helping them improve their eye-hand coordination.
Learning to throw underhand is and important skill that many students do not practice outside of school. Ring Toss has many benefits including improving visual skills, eye – hand coordination, bilateral coordination, fine motor and gross motor skills. It is an simple game that has many benefits for the students.
