Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title 1 school with a large population of English as a New Language students. My class is very unique. It is an integrated collaborative class with many children who have needs that need to be met. Some behavioral, some physical, some have speech and language barriers and some just need a lot of love. Regardless of their need or reading level, they all love to learn! Give them something to touch, something to build, something interesting to learn about that gets their wheels turning and it is a different world.
My Project
I am hoping to get this 3D printer for my students. They will see that their creativity can be the next greatest thing and THEY can bring it to life. It would be so exciting if the students could solve real world problems by designing something, sending it to the printer and watching it form right before their eyes.
Students would watch their pencil cups, key chains, models and more form inside the printer - exactly how they designed it - and then - THEY CAN HOLD IT!
I feel this would build self esteem, hands on learning, socialization skills, engineering skills, vocabulary and team work. We can also sell some of our objects to raise money for more filament - lol - Thank you for considering our project.
