My Project
This project would provide my students with a class set of the novel "Riding Freedom." This story is set during Westward Expansion and is the perfect novel to accompany our Social Studies unit! The story is based on a young girl who dreams of working with horses in a local stable. However, at this time in history, women and girls were not allowed to hold jobs of that nature.
Help me inspire my students with the story of a young girl who uses her determination and wit to make her dreams come true.
This novel would truly be a gift to our classroom as we delve into the turn of the century in America and expand westward. When each student has a copy of a novel, they are able to apply and practice literary skills while referencing their text. This is the perfect mentor text for character analysis, literary analysis, and practice opportunity for students to quote directly from a text. We are truly grateful for your consideration and generosity. They say it takes a village to raise a child, thank you for being part of that village.
