My Students
I have a group of thirteen amazing three-year-old PreK students. We are located in a small rural district in northeastern Oklahoma. The majority of the schools in our district are Title I. Our community has a very high Native American population, as it is the home for nine Tribal Nations. Many of my students are experiencing being in a school setting for the first time. We are preparing them and building a foundation for them to continue to become successful scholars.
My Project
We are asking for two tricycles and three helmets to enhance our recess and outside time! When students are this little, they are working on building their core muscles. Riding a tricycle increases muscle strength, increases postural stability, improves bi-lateral coordination, and gives a child confidence in their physical abilities. We also are in need of three helmets to protect their growing brains!
We need tricycles so students can build their muscle strength and stability!
We have a big basketball court, but the hoops are way high. We are asking for trikes that we can ride on our open space!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
