Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the honor of teaching 30+ Kindergrtners in inner-city Maryland. Our school works hard to make sure students who live in poverty have the experiences needed to keep their eyes on learning.
My students have a record of high achievement, but one key reading area where my students continually struggle is rhyming. They aren't exposed to simple nursery rhymes and take lots of practice to understand the concept.
By giving them more exposure to lots of rhyming activities, my students can get the practice they need to be serious rhymers. I am asking for various rhyming activity centers, simple rhyme/sound based books and sound phones so my students will get hands on experience with the needed reading skill. These tools will help my students excel and gain the confidence they need to be great readers.
Your donation will have a huge impact in keeping my Kindergrtners rhyming, motivated, excited and engaged in their learning!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
