Rhyme Time For Special Education Students

My students need 5 rhyming games to increase phonemic awareness.

This project is fully funded

I am the special education teacher in a kindergarten inclusion class. We are a Title I, early-childhood center. Approximately seventy-five percent of our students receive free lunch. There are 14 wonderful five and six year olds in my class. Some of these children have been diagnosed with various disabilities, including delays in gross and fine motor skills, attention deficit disorder, and speech impairments. Many of the students in my class have trouble with phonemic awareness. They do not recognize the sounds that they hear in various words. Phonemic awareness is so important for early language learning and is necessary to begin reading and writing. One way to increase phonemic awareness is to provide opportunities to practice rhyming skills. I am asking for various rhyming games to create fun and meaningful experiences to increase phonemic awareness skills. I truly believe that young children learn through play and these games will allow my students to take part in their own learning. Your donation of rhyme games will help all of my students gain the phonemic awareness skills that are necessary for literacy.
