Rewriting the Story of America: Student Film Project

Help me give my students printer ink, chart paper, markers, and filming materials to create storyboards and short films that retell American history through their own voices.

My Project

My students are passionate young historians who aren’t afraid to question what they’ve been taught. They bring energy, curiosity, and creativity to every discussion, especially when exploring how history is told—and who gets left out of the story. I love how they connect the past to their own lives and communities, constantly asking how they can make learning more inclusive and authentic.

This project will help my students turn their ideas into action.

Chart paper and markers will allow them to brainstorm and storyboard their historical film projects, while printer ink will help them print scripts, visuals, and research materials. Lighting and filming tools will help them record their work professionally and confidently.

My goal is for students to see themselves as changemakers who can use creativity to reimagine history and amplify silenced voices. These materials will help them express truth, representation, and pride through storytelling.
