I have students with multiple grade levels in my classroom from 3rd to 5th grade with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This virtual learning is challenging for teachers, families and students. I feel by jumping into it with exciting rewards/token so students can stay engaged in learning.They love learning and make conscious efforts to do their very best in all their work.
Students learn better if they have the motivation, reward or a fun day while learning.
They are also working hard to earn points in their class dojo.
My Project
My students work really hard at home completing assignments, joining me for live lessons and adjusting to this new way of learning.But they aren’t always easy to engage, however, rewards help a lot .
I want to reward my students for their hard work and allow them to use their Class Dojo points they've earned throughout the year.They can select their own reward that will be provided via mail - ensuring it will COVID-19 safe.
Students can earn points by showing RISE behaviors (respect, integrity, safety and empathy). They are still earning points while doing online learning. I am asking for different items to reward them with so they can stay motivated to earn points. My students love toy cars like hot wheels, toy animals, pokemon toys, stickers and reading books. I am also asking for smaller items like bouncy balls and emoji keychains for those students who still have points to spend but not enough to earn the big prizes.
