Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We believe that we shape behaviors by doing the right thing. We want our students to be rewarded for the good choices they make so they continue making good choices.
Our school uses Positive Behavior Intervention Supports to help teachers say to students congratulations you did that awesome thing and keep being a person that makes good choices.
Teachers who notice a student being kind to someone else writes about that experience in special slips of paper and from that collection of special slips of paper that highlight stelar students we hold a raffle. The students who win the raffle are able to get a special certificate that we print and they also get a special positive behavior intervention reward prize.
We want to have a ready collection of gift cards to local restaurants that include Paneras, Starbucks, IHOP, and Chilies and so that students can pick a gift card they will enjoy as a special treat. They are so happy that they get noticed for doing the right thing and they get this special positive behavior intervention reward. We also want a vitamin hand held blender that makes fresh fruit smoothies so that students can make delicious smoothies. Having clear plastic mason jars that have a handle and a lid will be good. Students will be able to make and drink their smoothie in that mason jar. It will be wonderful being able to give students positive behavior intervention rewards and also give them the chance to make and drink a nutritious fruit smoothie.
