Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school serves a predominantly Asian and Hispanic immigrant population. Our students are special because they are very diverse students who speak many different languages at our school! Often I learn new things about other cultures that I was unaware of. Our students are very creative and have an eagerness to learn and share their experiences with us.
My Project
These items will support our positive behavior incentive programs, one program in particular is the check in and check out program. A student is paired with a staff member who checks in on them every morning and at dismissal. At the end of the day students hand in their daily behavior chart to their mentor and if students meet their behavior goal that mentor gets to reward that student for their behavior. Students really work hard for their rewards and these are the things they like to have as rewards for positive behavior.
