Rewarding Responsibile, Respectful, and Safe Students
My students need 26 assorted resources, including games, school supplies books as rewards for their responsible, respectful and safe behavior in order to continue a positive school climate.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A good name will shine forever. -Proverb
At our middle school, we empower students to become the best that they can be. We have a program called PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) where we teach and reward positive behavior.
Our team consists of 110 7th grade students who live in a predominately low socioeconomic community.
They attend a middle school that houses just over 600 students. Our students and families are truly struggling with issues of homelessness, poverty, hunger and an overall lack of resources.
My Project
At our school we are continuing to work on promoting and rewarding positive behavior for my team. In order to do this, we are asking for donations of basketballs, games, books, and supplies to fill our PBIS store. Students who are caught following our school-wide expectations earn PBIS tickets. The tickets are used to redeem supplies for student use at our store which is running low on resources. This donation to our school will help support our PBIS program and the goals of our team.
Through your generous donation, our students will realize the importance of demonstrating positive behavior towards others and realize the effects of positive behavior.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive systems approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
This donation will help prepare our students to be positive members in their homes, school, and community.
