My Students

As the school counselor in an elementary school, I strive to create a positive peer culture of unity and respect. I do this by giving every student a voice, while offering neutrality and unconditional positive regard. One of my main responsibilities is to provide a warm office environment, where students and parents feel comfortable addressing some very difficult topics.

I serve the entire school and helping students navigate through life is what I was meant to do.

My Project

Rewarding good behavior is what I like to do. When we create a behavior intervention plan we reward the behavior we want to see more often. Letting the students use my mini crane machine and win a plushie and a piece of candy makes for a very memorable experience.

Creating a warm positive place where students feel comfortable addressing hard topics is something I strive to provide.

I provide a host of calming objects and materials to help students get in their wise mind. This can include cold water and maybe a treat or two.
