This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach bilingual students at a Title I school in Houston, Texas. The students all qualify for the free lunch program. They come from low-income families and have limited opportunities for the use of technology.
I want to keep my students motivated to accomplish their academic goals this year.
I need to have treats for my high achievers to keep them in a competitive learning environment.
My Project
I would like to have treats in my classroom for those students who are always ready to participate and meet their academic goals. I would also like to motivate those students who struggle to get new concepts. They sometimes need to have extra motivation. I would like to encourage all my students to strive. First graders are really into competition among their classmates and I would like to have treats and prizes, like gift cards to keep them motivated to try their best. I know that adding a treat basket in my classroom would really help improve my student's grades.
