Help me give my students a variety of family board games, lined journal notebooks, and more items for to enjoy and have fun it! It is time to be rewarded!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students in this special education classroom have been working very hard this school year and have shown so much growth meeting their individual goals! In a low income area in Queens,NY it is hard for parents to purchase incentives for their kids or presents for birthdays. It is even harder to pay for incentives and rewards throughout the school year, as well as basic school supplies! By supporting their end of the year rewards, these students will be able to explore, write in their new journals, and play with their new board games! Students have enjoyed fun Friday throughout the school year but I have said that they don't own board games at home. I would love to encourage family game nights and for these students to pick a game board and maybe find I have heard many of them say they have never had their own board game. Now they will have the chance to choose one and potentially find a new pastime, just like I did as a child! They have worked so hard this school year, that now it is time for some fun and celebrate this nest chapter of their lives. These students are off to middle school next year!
