My Project

My students are naturally curious and love discovering real-world stories that are full of drama, bravery, mistakes, and triumph. With the right resources, history becomes more than just dates and names—it becomes alive, relevant, and even thrilling.

This project brings together a powerful mix of graphic novels, nonfiction, and narrative history books that speak directly to middle school minds.

With titles like The Gettysburg Address: A Graphic Adaptation, Alexander Hamilton: The Graphic History of an American Founding Father, and The United States Constitution: A Graphic Adaptation, students will get visual, engaging access to foundational American texts and figures.

Books like Guts & Glory: The American Civil War, Guts & Glory: World War II, and Normandy: A Graphic History of D-Day bring wartime history to life, helping students understand courage and sacrifice through gripping stories. Meanwhile, Women Heroes of the American Revolution and Feminist Revolution highlight the often-overlooked contributions of women in shaping our nation’s history—perfect for fostering critical conversations and empowering young readers.

To spark curiosity, titles like History’s Strangest Mysteries, Unraveling Enigmas, and The United States of Epic Fails offer surprising and little-known tales that help students see history as a puzzle worth exploring. And with books like No Summit Out of Sight and Shaken: Young Reader's Edition, students are inspired by real stories of resilience and perseverance.

This diverse collection—including the Usborne Beginners History Box Set, Trailblazers of America, and Illustrated Biographies for Kids—will expand our media center with resources that are accessible, exciting, and aligned with curriculum goals.
