Reusable Smart Notebooks

My Project

My students are kindergarteners who love hands on activity. Many of them enter kindergarten with little to no experience in fine motor skills needed to form letters and numbers. This year I am requesting reusable smart notebooks to replace our old whiteboards and dry erase markers. Smart notebooks can be written on with the attached stylus or even with a finger. Erasing is easy with a click of a button (and writing doesn't disappear if it is accidentally brushed with a sleeve). Using smart notebooks instead of white boards means no more time spent handing out dry erase markers and erasers, replacing dried out markers, and collecting them all over again when the lesson is complete. Less time handling materials distribution means more engaging learning time for students. The smart notebook's capability to write with a finger or a stylus allows students who are not yet ready to use a writing implement to participate fully in the activity. As their fine motor skills increase, they can move to using the stylus as it becomes developmentally appropriate for them.
