My students need a new rug for our whole group learning time.

My Students
Our school has been greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy and has not re-opened yet. Our school had over 32,000 gallons of oil spill into the basement, which has caused our building to need major repairs. The children's homes have also been greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy as well.
My students are an inquisitive bunch of first graders who like to gather close when a story is being read or a lesson is being taught.
They have a love of learning and are always willing to help one another. They have suffered greatly these past few months with not only loses in their own homes, but the loss of our school as well.
My Project
I am requesting a new carpet for our classroom, so that my students can gather around as we continue on our journey of learning. They will be able to get up close to each new read-aloud and view our lessons from one central spot in the room. The children will be able to use this safe clean area to buddy read and we will have our classroom meetings there as well.
By supporting our project you are giving the children a chance to continue on with their journey of learning without having to sit on the cold hard floor.
They will be able to share their thinking with classmates and I will be able to easily check in with them being that they are gathered in one central spot.
