Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These children have lost a year of socialization and play. They deserve to come back to an enriched learning environment.
I have the privilege of teaching tech-savvy Hispanic teens in a densely populated urban public school.
90%+ students are low-socioeconomic on the free lunch program, and our school is surrounded by homelessness and heavy public transit.
My Project
I am a Physical Education Teacher that has not been able to give my students what they need for over a year. Students NEED to play! They need to run around outside and breathe in fresh air! In August my students will return to In-Person school.
Please help welcome returning students back to In-person school with brand new soccer nets!
Soccer is the most popular sport at our inner-city school but our old pop-up nets are covered in holes and are barely held together with duct tape. Brand new nets would be a wonderful way for the PE department at my school to welcome our kids back to physical activity and learning through sports. We are asking for new Pop-up Soccer goals and Mesh ball bags for soccer balls. Please help!
