Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I have a class full of vibrant, joyful and inquisitive fifth graders. They are anxious about learning, especially when it comes to current events and world affairs. My students enjoy talking about politics, history, science and math. They are also independent thinkers and learners who soak up everything we discuss in class. Not only are they the amazing scholars, they are also amazing little citizens. They cooperate with each other and genuinely want to make a difference in their community. Just in my class I have approximately 11 out of 21 who want to participate and are running for student council because they feel they have a contribution to make in our school community.

My Project

The Chromebooks I have requested will make a great impact and difference in how my students collaborate and communicate. They will be able to conduct research on topics that are age and grade level appropriate, and learn to present their knowledge with their peers. My students enjoy learning about world affairs as well as current events. They love to speak, and share what they know. These much needed Chromebooks will enhance how they conduct research and conduct presentations, which will in turn make them competitive in our technologically savvy society. My students are in need of these devices because in our school we only have very old laptops which are very slow and not up to par with what is needed to compete in our society.
