Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I do several after school groups to support students feeling heard and honored by their schools. The circles I do afterschool are equity-driven in nature. The process is set up to give all students what they need to be successful students.
The goal is to support students in a way that makes them feel safe.
I plan to use the requested materials to create a safe place for students to feel heard and seen. The boombox will be used for playing music and guided meditation. The coloring books and art supplies will be used for mindful activities. These materials will support the restorative process. I love when students come in to see me for support and leave feeling part of their school community.
