Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the sole Health and Psychology Educator at our high school, my students count on me to be a consistent trusting and nurturing presence in their day-to-day lives. Students know they can come to my classroom space to find almost anything they might need in a pinch.
I am a firm believer in the concept of Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Need”, which suggests that self actualization cannot occur until the most basic of human needs are fulfilled.
Based on that principle, It’s my goal to ensure that no student feels that they cannot focus on their academics due to a lack of resources impacting their needs. From hunger to hygiene, and everything in between, I have them covered!
Please help me ensure I have an adequate supply of whatever my students may need: high fiber and protein snacks for energy and focus; a variety of personal hygiene products for boosts of comfort and confidence, cleaning supplies to avoid the spread of illness; and toner for the student printer, which is housed in my room.
