it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our Early Childhood Special Education classroom, books are more than just stories—they are tools that open doors to language development, social-emotional growth, and a love for learning. Many of our young learners face unique challenges in communication and comprehension, making access to high-quality, engaging books essential in their educational journey.
With your support, we aim to restock our classroom library with books that are developmentally appropriate, diverse, and engaging for our students.
The books will:
*Support Language Development – Many of our students are emerging communicators, and books with repetitive text, engaging visuals, and interactive elements help strengthen their vocabulary and comprehension skills.
*Foster Social-Emotional Learning – Stories allow our students to explore emotions, relationships, and problem-solving skills in a safe and meaningful way. Books with relatable characters and social stories help them navigate real-world interactions.
Our goal for this project is to build a literacy-rich environment that meets the needs of all learners—whether they are working on communication skills, social-emotional growth, or simply discovering the joy of books. By expanding our classroom library, we can provide meaningful learning opportunities that will have a lasting impact on their development.
What makes our students special is their resilience, curiosity, and unique ways of learning. Every day, they show us the incredible power of persistence and joy in discovering new things.
