My Project
Students with special needs require alot of sensory input to be able to focus and learn. Weighted blankets are a form of sensory input that can be used to help calm a child. Weighted blankets are used in my classroom in the calm down area for the students to cover themselves when they need to calm their bodies. The weighted blankets are five pounds because weighted items should not be more than 10% of a child's body weight.
Calming strategies can be used to help children regulate themselves.
