Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my preschool classroom are 3-5 years old and have a variety of disabilities, including Down Syndrome, Autism, Developmental Delays as well as other health impairments. These little learners are eager to explore the classroom and are building essential skills for future success.
Young children are naturally curious and it is important to allow this curiosity to guide their learning.
As a teacher, it is my role to foster development and support each of my student’s needs, while creating a safe and welcoming environment.
My Project
These students love exploring our classroom library and looking through picture books. The library provides a space for each of the students to acquire a genuine love of books. Many of my students may not have as many opportunities to engage with books at home. Early exposure to books provides foundational skills in literacy development.
The new comfortable seating will provide students with a safe and calming space to experience books.
Many of my students require a relaxing setting to foster their learning. Our preschoolers would love these comfy, adaptable seats to interact with the library books as well as each other!
