My Students

We are a caring community that knows every child as an individual and offers them a place to belong. We understand a students’ education is an important part of their life journey, and we are committed to their success. At WDMCS, students will gain knowledge and develop skills to prepare them for life. The excellent opportunities we offer enable students to explore their interests and achieve their potential because we believe every student can find their place in the WDMCS.

We are a "Leader in Me" school which allows students to show leadership skills in a positive manner.

Students have a voice and are respected individuals.

My Project

Our students love technology and we encourage them to be responsible and safe with all aspects of technology. In our daily reading rotations, students have the opportunity to use iPads and visit different learning apps that promote literacy. As students are working at their different stations, I am working with other students in small reading and writing groups.

In order to continue help my students to be indepedent leaders, a common area for students to store and charge the iPads would be extremely beneficial.

Students will know exactly where to return and charge each iPad after their rotation. They will be able to do this without interrupting their teacher, who would be helping small groups of other students during literacy time.

An added bonus of this storage system is the easel and an area for baggies with headphones. Each student brings their own headphones to school and this storage option is much more convenient than what I've used in the past. Students will be able to find their headphones quickly and easily since they will be hung on the easel in number order. This also promotes independence and responsibility in each student.
