How do you feel when you don't have the supplies you need to start a project? If you said stressed or frustrated, that is exactly how my students feel when they do not have supplies. Getting these supplies will help my students focus on their work instead of being stressed.
I teach at a Title 1 Arts school which has a very high poverty index.
The students are full of energy and are excited to learn. Students have a love of learning and love to come to school. Some of my students are not able to provide basic supplies such as glue sticks, crayons or markers. Therefore, I have used my own money to purchase the supplies for them.
My Project
I am requesting crayons, glue sticks, color pencils, ink, a place value set, three hole punch, journal, clip boards, scissors and pens. I am requesting the crayons, glue sticks, pens,scissors and journals for their class work and interactive journals. I am requesting the ink and hole punch because each week I make new reading and math stations for my students, and I want to preserve the stations so they can use them over and over again. I am requesting the clip boards so the students can come to the floor and lay on the floor while I teach so that we are close together as a group and not spread out. I am requesting the magnetic place value set to help my students that need the hands on manipulatives. These supplies will help my students tremendously and they do not have to worry about supplying them.
