Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st-century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them. I teach 25 curious fourth-grade scientists in a small Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children. They have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
Recently we have returned to the school building with a hybrid model. I teach simultaneously, meaning I teach my in class students and online students at the same time. My goal for both groups is to provide educational experiences that are fun and engaging. We will soon begin a unit on endangered species where they will conduct research on the animal of their choice and produce a 17 page book about their animal.
We desperately need more ink for our classroom printer!
My students will create graphics and other media that will need to be printed for their culminating book project. The ink requested in this project will provide what we/they need to get it done!
