Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students at are unlike any students have ever met. Our students have so much personality and love for school. Despite these students' backgrounds and living situations they manage to come to school and succeed. These students are predominately Hispanic and most come from lower-income families. Our school is a Title I school that receives some support from the surrounding community. The community itself is very close and strives to do a lot for the students' needs.

The students at our school are simply the best!

They have so much pride in their community and their school and we want to be able to support them in all the areas of their life while they are at school.

My Project

While I am in a SPED resource setting, many of my students have many different needs. I need more resources when it comes to my writing segments. I am wanting students to become more independent, take more ownership of their work, and to be successful most importantly! With these resources for words such as the vowel team game, writing folders, and the colored pencils. Students will be responsible for finishing their work and editing it as well. Our students need frequent breaks which is why we have requested the fidget. Our classroom has from grades k, 3rd-5th and I would love to provide them with resources.

With writing, my students often find it hard to keep going and do not understand the writing process.

By giving them tools and visuals such as the pencils to edit and the folders as a visual , students will be able to see what is expected. Along with writing, we are working on our reading comprehension and skills/language to better build our responses both verbally and written.
