Resources for Hands-On Distant Learning Part II

Help me give my students daily journals (math, reading and language), CVC dice, word building tiles, white boards (multilplication), flash cards and write and wipe clocks to enhance their distant learning.

My Students

My students are always excited and eager to learn new things. Our classroom consists of a diverse group of students with varying disabilities including ADHD, specific learning disabilities, behavior difficulties and cognitive delays. Most students don’t have access to technology at home, so a lot of them are only exposed to technology when they’re in school. I have an inquisitive group of students, who are always eager to work with technology.

They attend a Title I school where they all qualify for free breakfast and lunch.

Due to COVID -19, in a matter of days and with very little preparation, our school closed and will remain closed for the rest of the school year. My students and families have been trying their absolute best to continue learning at home, but young children need a wide variety of stimulating, hands-on activities to continue to develop reading and math skills.

They deserve to continue to learn and to continue to work on the IEP goals while they are home. It’s so important we continue to address their needs while they are not in the classroom!

My Project

My students need a wide range of materials for children to manipulate in order to learn new ideas and concepts. The COVID-19 pandemic has robbed my little learners of the materials they need to keep learning. My scholars are in need of math and literacy journals, flash cards, decoding and spelling resources to make math and reading more engaging and fun!

By having multiplication write and wipe boards & flash cards my students will be able to enhance their multiplication skills.

In addition, funding this project will allow students to use decoding activities to practice spelling which in turn will increase their reading fluency.

Many of my students do not have the necessary materials at home to play study with their families. School is often the only place where they are exposed to alternate ways of learning. These resources will allow me to differentiate instruction for each student to help meet their current IEP goals. Help me help my students and their families continue education while they are at home.
