My Students

I am so fortunate to work with a group of students who are unique and special in many different ways. I work with special needs students in kindergarten through third grade. All of my students require full-time special education support in order to help increase their skills in each area of development. Most of my students are nonverbal and have behavior challenges. My students usually join my classroom when they are in kindergarten and stay with me through their elementary school years.

We are located in a public, inner-city school, in a high-poverty neighborhood, where students receive free breakfast and lunch every day.

My goal is to create an environment that can grow with my students while remaining appropriate for my new kindergarten friends who I receive every year. Thank you for taking the time to learn about the amazing students who I work with.

My Project

This year, I will have students from kindergarten to fourth grade in my class. Most of my students have been with me since kindergarten and I have had the privilege of watching them grow and develop into the learners they are today. Due to my class's unique needs and broad age range, every student is working on different skills in math, language arts, and social emotional learning. I create individual work binders and hands-on activities for each of my students that include Velcro matching, tracing, and dry erase tasks that are aligned with IEP goals and objectives.

I would like to be able to continue making these binders and hands-on activities as my students advance in each academic area.

I am requesting a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card so that I can purchase more advanced activities for my students. This gift card will allow me to purchase resources that meet the unique needs of all of my students, and will also make it possible for me to maintain consistent learning routines for my students from year to year.

Thank you so much for considering donating to my project! My students and I appreciate it more than you know!
