Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of students. I have a very diverse classroom environment that makes all of my students feel safe and welcomed. I have a wide range of students who come from all different backgrounds and each has a story that is unique and plays a factor in their learning. I run my classroom as if we are a family, a team, as leaders for each other. We support each others learning and we celebrate all our success.

I teach at a Title I school in the heart of a downtown Phoenix.

My students don't have a lot and I try to give each of them all that I can. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. For a lot of students, this is their only chance of the day to have a meal and feel safe. Despite any hardship that my students face in their home lives, the students in my class are eager to learn and love school. Every child that enters my room is loved and knows that they are each and every day.

My Project

We use a curriculum called Benchmark Advance. I am asking for a teachers pay teaher gift card so I can purchase resources to go along with it. This is something that will be used all year and extended further on. I will be buying resources to support the whole group lessons as well as small groups.

I will be able to provide students with differentiated resources to support students learning.

This document has guided reading documents as well as vocabulary. This resource also has writing as well as critical thinking questions that go along with each story.
