This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My student are an inspiring group that deserve so much. They are faced with emotional and learning disabilities along side so many exterior challenges, such as low socioeconomic neighborhoods and divided families due to immigration issues. Everyday is a new experience in the classroom since so many of them are still trying to cope and deal with their differences. Unfortunately, they are so limited in resources and they deserve all the help they can get since learning is a challenge for them.
My Project
Our school is very limited with technology. Special needs students need extra resources at their fingertips. If I am using my computer to access the webpage for our lesson, that limits the students to not being able to look up other resources or further research a topic. My students have limited exposure to history and interesting social studies or science topics. I would love for them to be able to research and continue learning about a topic or pioneer we were learning about during their free time (after they finish their work). I also find some good resources and can't print them in my class because I don't have a printer.
