My science scholars would benefit tremendously by having access to the learning opportunities offered by the Internet and computer software programs.
My science scholars are 7th grade students in an under-funded urban school in Missouri.
They are at a very inquisitive age that is perfect for scientific inquiry. They are excited about science and technology, and especially love to learn about their impact on our every day lives.
My Project
There are not very many aspects of society that have not been impacted by modern day technological advances. The Internet and other technologies have provided educators and students educational opportunities beyond what any textbook can offer. I am requesting an HP 620 laptop computer and an HP LaserJet Pro printer. The computer will allow for my students to access everything from simple computer games and interactive websites to detailed research for science projects and live feeds from NASA to the possibility of interacting with science classrooms across the globe. Additionally, the HP computer and printer will allow us to print scientific reports, summaries, classroom worksheets, pictures, and other documents necessary for a quality learning experience.
Research suggests that technology in the classroom increases student achievement.
My scholars face so many challenges in and outside of the classroom. Let's not let access to technology be another challenge they must overcome. Your generosity will be most beneficial and appreciated.
