Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We will be moving to a new school next fall. The "new" walls are bare and void of cultural representation for all of my students. We proudly have a very diverse community and sometimes it is hard to find things around the school that make them feel more at home and comfortable.

I have found that the best way to build a strong relationship between student, teacher and the whole class is through culture, awareness and food; and what better way to kick the year off on a positive note than a day where we can decorate the class together and enjoy a celebration of our cultures.

Your generous donation will provide some inspirational posters, snacks, flags and a world map for students to pin their familial places. This project will add to their social emotional learning and allowing students to open up with each other and bring a sense of home to school. They deserve to feel seen and be seen for the uniqueness that they all have and the ability to connect with people they may have not normally connected with.
