Help me give my students a class set of a book written by a local author!
FULLY FUNDED! Dr. Verma's classroom raised $1,486

My Project
This project will provide my students with a book written by a local author (Dr. Deven Tellis, EdD). In this day and age, it is important to allow students to read physical books because the inevitable nationwide emphasis on state testing is encouraging students to read short stories electronically.
It is important for children to see themselves in literature so as to allow inclusivity, and when children see people in media who look, act, and experience life like them, they will consequently feel included and valued in a society.
My students will be able to feel represented via the requested book if this project is funded! I plan to reach out and invite the author, Dr. Tellis, to my classroom for a meet-and-greet and book-signing if she is kindly able to spare a little bit of her time. If she is able to come to my classroom, my kids will not only have a book where they are represented, but will actually be able to see representation live in-person!
My students and I thank you in advance for donating to this project.
