My Students

I currently teach 125 8th graders and help support our school community of about 350 students. My students are the change makers of the world. They are dedicated to their learning and strive to use their voice to make a difference. My students are hard working in and outside of the classroom and find ways to be part of the school and local community.

My Project

I am currently working on updating my classroom library and would love for my students to read more. More importantly, I would like them to have several options of books in which they can identify with the characters they read about. Representation matters in all settings.

I have picked a diverse set of books that include a variety of diverse authors, topics, and reading levels.

These books were specifically chosen to meet the academic, cultural and social emotional needs of my students. The books range from topics about culture, race, mental health and LGBTQ+ stories.
