My Project
In our life skills classroom, we’re building more than routines—we’re building confidence, compassion, and real-world readiness. This project brings together social-emotional learning tools and inclusive, hands-on materials that reflect the diversity of the students I serve. With resources that support emotional regulation, making good choices, and practicing empathy, students will have the tools they need to understand themselves and others more deeply.
These resources create a bridge between school and life, allowing students to develop communication, independence, and vocational confidence in a space that celebrates who they are.
This donation will help give my students access to dolls that reflect a range of identities and abilities—including dolls with Down syndrome and autism—so they can see themselves, their siblings, and their communities represented in the classroom. These dolls will be used in caregiving job skills, social scenarios, and emotional role-play to help students build skills that translate to future jobs and personal growth. Alongside them, we’re adding time timers, emotion matching tools, choice-making cards, and sensory calming items to build focus and help students self-regulate throughout their day.
With your support, we’re not just adding items to a shelf—we’re building belonging, purpose, and the skills that will carry them forward into adulthood with pride.
