What I love most about my students is their curiosity, resilience, and the unique perspectives they bring to the classroom every day. They are thoughtful, creative, and eager to learn when given the right tools and opportunities.
Providing a library that reflects who they are gives my students a mirror to see themselves, windows to understand others, and doors to imagine new possibilities.
Culturally responsive books can ignite a love for reading, build confidence, and create meaningful connections between school and students. My goal is to support literacy skills, foster empathy, introduce my students to perspectives and experiences different from their own to build critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world.
