My Project
My students are the promising future of this country. From their diverse backgrounds, they see the world more vividly than past generations and are more accepting, thoughtful, and open to change. Their moral compass seems to be well-calibrated and points in the direction of progress more so than not.
I want the books that they are exposed to, to express views of acceptance, tolerance, and compassion, to serve as a representation of my student as well as to celebrate diversity and equity.
My hope is that these books can become part of a year celebrating each other, learning that diversity is power and promoting a lifetime of understanding, compassion, and cultural appreciation.
