Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting materials that will support the social emotional growth and mental wellbeing of my students, with a special focus on racial justice, representation, and inclusivity. I am requesting books that address topics of racial justice and cultural representation. The books will be used to help students build empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of self and community. The multicolor art supplies will promote inclusive and expressive art therapy. Lastly, the hispanic family dolls will promote representation in play-based learning.
Access to dolls that look like them and access to multicolor art supplies will help my students feel seen, valued, and understood.
These resources will create a more inclusive, healing, and affirming environment for all of my students.
