This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the mostly immigrant neighborhood where I teach, my students don't often see people like themselves represented in STEM fields on the most popular media that they consume so freely. As the saying goes, if they can't see it, they can't be it.

I want them to understand that they all matter, and they all have ingenious ideas.

With a color printer, I can help them see that they are all engineers and share those great ideas with the their classmates, and the other classes that come through my room. Parents will also be able to see their children's creativity when they are on campus for parent events, or as a tangible reminder when I send them home.
