My Project

I teach African American Studies. The goal is to help students deeply explore the themes of representation and social injustice. The resources will allow students to examine the experiences, contributions, and struggles of African Americans throughout history and in today’s society. Supplies like notebooks, posters, and art materials will support interactive projects, research, and creative expression as students reflect on systemic injustice and representation in media, history, and culture. I feel it will also help build critical thinking, empathy, and awareness. Skills that are essential for not only shaping informed, responsible citizens, but citizens that are also emotionally intelligent and culturally sensitive.
