This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students have speech delays, and some need occupational (fine motor skills) and physical therapy support. On top of having their specific needs, my students also come from low-income families, and more than half of my students are English Language Learners.

Please do not let their circumstances trick you; my students are bright, cheerful, kind, and eager to learn.

Autism, Mild Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delay, and Traumatic Brain Injuries are only labels. When you choose to see the "able" instead of the label, you will notice the brilliant minds at work at their very own pace and time.

My Project

Five years ago, I inherited a self-contained classroom from the previous teachers. I also inherited the outdated instructional technology such as the wired keyboard and mouse for the desktop computer. They are wired, and if I need to use them, I have to do it from my desk. However, they are so old at this point, and they start to lag so much that I start to lose my students' interest because of the wait time. My students have been sitting awkwardly in silence while I scramble to get to the keyboard and mouse as fast as I could. It is more so challenging teaching my students virtually with the lagging.

Functional and efficient Bluetooth instructional technologies can keep the students engaged in the lesson.

I am in need of the functional and efficient type of keyboards and mice so that I can move and use them around the classroom. I personally own an iPad, and I have chosen to go digital with everything I do to save some trees for a better planet. The wireless keyboards, mouse, and pencil for iPad will help me move around the classroom, take notes and data more efficiently, and have everything I need on the go, while the other set of keyboard and mouse will replace the outdated and lagged instructional technology I currently have in the classroom.
