My Project
The first ten minutes of class is independent reading time. My students absolutely love reading graphic novels. Dogman, Raina Telgemeier books and Wings of Fire are some of the top choices students pull from the classroom library.
The pages are literally falling off the spine from the kids reading them so much.
I have noticed kids not even grabbing them anymore because pages fall when they pick it up off the shelf. These books are falling apart because the students are reading them so often the book has just gotten worn out. I hate they are falling apart, but it just shows that the students are reading them constantly.
These books are used for DEAR time, when they finish their work and for pure enjoyment. We just need some new fresh ones in our library and then we can donate the falling apart ones to the students to take home.
