Repair, Create, Innovate!

Help me give my students literacy and STEAM learning opportunities through tools that help us repair and extend the life of well-loved books, and a way to transform their innovative ideas into hands-on finished projects!

My Project

As the Library teacher at our elementary school, I get to witness students’ creativity spark every day. Our library is not just a place to read—it’s a hub for imagination, invention, and discovery. Through hands-on MakerSpace projects and STEAM activities, our students learn how to think critically, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life.

To support and expand these opportunities, we are requesting some important tools: a book repair machine, a Cricut Machine and a label maker.

The book repair machine will help us restore worn and well-loved books, keeping our library collection strong and replacment costs low. The Cricut will allow our students to design and cut custom materials for their projects, from engineering prototypes to creative storytelling displays. We will also be able to design and create signage for better book shelf navigation and supply organization. Resources will be readily accessible and well cared for with labeled storage and organization.

These tools will give our students the ability to preserve the stories they love while building the skills they need for the future—problem-solving, design thinking, and resilience. With your help, we can give them the resources to both repair the past and create the future.
